<p>A winding appts for lengths of fabric issuing from a loom comprises, externally of the loom, a feed roller and a control roller, guide pulleys under the loom, a raised cover-sheath for the fabric disposed under the loom, a further guide pulley above the loom, and winding means on vertical supports over the loom, which means are associated with tension control means mounted between the third guide and the winding means. The tension control means may be controlled by counter-weights, and may be a pneumatic or electromagnetic device. The appts supplies an increased fabric winding length by reason of the control of the guide pulleys, and an improved winding is obtained using any kind of fabric. The weft of the fabric is held parallel to the winding mandrel, and an automatic adjustment is made to accommodate the increasing size of the wound fabric. Very long fabrics may be wound, and visual checking of the winding may be effected during work. Chances of breakdown are slight, since the device for position adjustment is purely mechanical.</p> |
