A seat comprises a continuous frame 10 formed from a single elongated extruded aluminium rod having two longitudinally extending parallel slots 20, 21. Slot 21 receives a peripheral lip 11b of a body supporting shell 11 of plastics material and tongues 16a, 16b of a cross-brace 16 which is supported on a stanchion 15, Fig. 4 (not shown). Slot 20 receives decorative beading 36 of upholstery, Fig. 15 (not shown). A zipper 35 may connect the material 34 of the upholstery to beading 36. |
