PURPOSE:To make possible the mounting and automatic change of works without using a pallet changer or an industrial robot by using the control function for positioning the spindle relative to the work table. CONSTITUTION:After a series of cutting processes of a work 30 have been completed under the control of a NC device, a work holder 38 is attached to the spindle 12 of the spindle head 10 by the automatic tool changer. The spindle head 10 is then advanced to the work table 20 to hold the finished work 30 with the fork 38a of the work holder 38. The spindle head 10 travels along the passage G-A holding the finished work with the fork 38a toward a work stocker 40 under the control of the spindle positioning control device to put the finished work 30 on the shelf 43 of the stocker 40. Successively, the spindle head 10 is moved to the shelf 42 of the stocker 40 to take out a work to be processed with the fork 38a and to bring the work to a work mounting jig 22 thus fixing the work 30 in the work mounting position 24. |
