1,208,016. Transparent paper laminates. FELIX SCHOELLER TR. 25 Sept., 1967 [27 Sept., 1966], No. 43424/67. Heading B5N. [Also in Division B2] A transparent photographic paper comprises a plurality of layers of transparent cellulose paper, at least two of which are bonded together by a copolymer of an alpha-olefin and another, preferably polar, monomer (other than a cyclic olefinic hydrocarbon), the amount of the latter in the copolymer preferably being 5-15% by weight. The co-monomer may be vinyl acetate, a methacrylic or acrylic ester, or an α,# - unsaturated monocarboxylic or dicarboxylic acid (the acid groups of which may be partly neutralized). The α - olefin may be ethylene or propylene. Preferably the resin is extruded from the melt between layers of paper, which are then pressed together. The laminate may be waterproofed, either conventionally or using a copolymer of the type described above, and a light-sensitive emulsion may then be adhesively applied. |
