A paper punch for office use is made almost entirely from plastic. The base (1) is in the form of a box and serves as a receptacle for the punchings. A guide block (4), which may be moulded integrally with the base (1), has two vertical holes to guide the punch pins (5). The block (4) also carries a transverse pin which serves as a pivot for the plastic handle (2). The handle (2) carries a small plate (7) fixed by screws (8) which grips the head (6) of the punch pin (5). A metal leaf spring (9) returns the handle (2) to its initial position after use.
