The method is used for stacking sacks filled with unpressed peat on pallets; the sacks are stacked on the pallet lying both next to and above each other. The sacks lying one above the other are connected by adhesive and the stack is also compressed. The adhesive layer is applied to the lower and/or the upper surfaces of the sacks before they are conveyed to the stacking point, or alternatively before the stacking process or during the stacking process. The compression of the stack of sacks is carried out by either pressing or shaking of the stack.
