Snow and ice thawing agent - with high, long lasting thawing power and rate contains urea, abrasive, pref. pumice, and calcium chloride

Snow and ice thawing agent contg. urea and abrasive (I) also contain CaCl2. The pref. compsn. is 30-60(46)% CaCl2, 34-47 (49)% pumice with a granulation of 2-7(3) mm and 3-15(5)% urea with a granulation of 2-7(2)mm. The agent has a high thawing power (in the -1 to -55 degrees C range) and rate and good long-lasting action. The urea is cheap and, unlike some other accelerators, does not cause over-fertilisation of the soil taking up the melt water. In addn., it makes plants more resistant to CaCl2 which itself has a much lower chloride content than NaCl.
