<p>A solar heat collector consists of a one-piece carrier, made of extruded plastic such as PVC which is covered at the side towards the sunlight by a pane of glass. The carrier has a U-section with a double bottom, subdivided by webs between the two parallel bottom plates into channels, alternately for use of a heat carrying medium (water) and an insulating medium. The channels thus formed are closed alternately at the ends by stoppers in the end walls and by openings joined to the medium inlet and outlet. Two higher channels formed in the bottom are used as stiffeners; they are pref. filled with extruded aluminium sections, contg. a polyurethane foam filling. The side walls have a groove-and-tongue joint to the adjacent collector panels. Such a collector is easy to produce at low cost and easy to assembly so that it will find a ready acceptance.</p> |
