PURPOSE:To realize a mutual connection to a general transmission line or terminal only for a sound and picture with excellent transmission efficiency by using a code expressing a maximum sound level as an inhibit code and by discriminating the transmission state from a sound to picture by this code. CONSTITUTION:A terminal equipped with transmission part T and reception part R is connected to a corresponding terminal at an opposite side. Sound input Ain, inputted to coder 11, is supplied to code converter 13 by way of pause detector 12 and then led to switch 15 through code addition unit 14. Picture input Pin, on the other hand, is supplied from buffer memory 17 to one input of switch 15 by way of frame-pulse addition unit 18 and indication pulse addition unit 19 and its output is led to Dout. Then, Dout is supplied to switch 22, frame-pulse removal unit 23 and buffer memory 24 by way of state detector 21 and then led to picture output Pout. Sound output A of switch 22 is supplied to decoder 25, whose output is led to sound output Aout. |
