1326639 Making elastic gloves BAXTER LABORATORIES Inc 19 Oct 1970 [22 Oct 1969] 49517/70 Heading A3V [Also in Division B5] An elastic glove, in which, it is stated, the natural unstressed position of the thumb portion approximates to that in which the user is likely to the thumb in use of the glove and thus relieves stress on the wearer, is made by moulding vinyl chloride plastisol or rubber latex on a form 10, comprising an arm and wrist portion 12, a hand portion having a palm 16 and a back 18, finger portions 20, 22, 24, 26 and a thumb portion 28, the thumb portion having a first part 29 integral with the hand portion and arranged to one side of the hand portion so that a plane passing through the outer edge of the first finger portion 20 at the joint with the palm and parallel to a median plane 34 (which contains the longitudinal axis of the form and is perpendicular to the palm) also passes through the first part of the thumb portion; the thumb portion has a second part between the first part 29 and the tip whose longitudinal axis 32 extends at an angle of between 8‹ and 18‹ away from the palm 16. As shown in Figure 1, the longitudinal axis 32 is also inclined at an angle of between 3‹ and 13‹ to the median plane 34, with the tip being nearer the plane than the first part 29. |
