PURPOSE:To prepare the easily handleable title product, safely, by granulating chemically unstable wet alkali salt of dichloroisocyanuric acid by a screen extruding pelletizer under relatively low pressure, and after drying and stabilizing the product, granulating by a roll granulator. CONSTITUTION:Wet dichloroisocyanuric acid alkali metal salt is extruded through a screen having a number of perforations to obtain rod-like granules, which are dried to the chemically stable state free from free water by fluidized drying, pref. drying with humidified hot air flow. The dry columnar particles thus prepared are pressed with a pair of rotary rollers to reduce their size to the desired size. The dichloroisocyanuric acid alkali metal salt is prepared, e.g. by neutralizing dichloroisocyanuric acid with a caustic alkali in the presence of water.
