PURPOSE:To obtain a high-characteristic optical pickup in a simple constitution by displacing a photo detection unit, which is supported by a movable box body displaced vertically through a low-frequency voice coil, in two orthogonal directions in a face rectangular to the vertical direction through a voice coil driven by a high frequency. CONSTITUTION:When voice coil 3 using damper and cooling magnetic fluid 7 is driven by a low frequency, movable box body 1 is dispalced vertically. Scoop- system photo detection unit 12 which is supported by piezo-electric element 14 of box body 1 through piano wire 15 and includes a lens system, a semiconductor laser, etc., is driven vertically through element 14 by a high frequency and wobbles. Meanwhile, unit 12 wobbles in a face vertical to the vertical direction in the two dimensions and is displaced smoothly by high frequency signals superposed onto low frequency feedback signals through voice coils 19a-19d provided at the other end of unit 12, thus obtaining a high-performance photo detection unit having no noise generation, etc. |
