PURPOSE:To interpose a CdTe thin layer between an n-type CdS thin layer and a Cu2S thin layer thereby to produce a solar battery excellent in photoelectric conversion efficiency and life stability. CONSTITUTION:An electroconductive paste is printed by a screen on one surface of a transparent glass substrate 1 to form baking electrodes 2, and thereon evaporated is CdS having a thickness of 10mum thereby to form an n-type CdS thin layer 3 of a low specific resistance. When the temperature of the substrate is retained at 250 deg.C and a CdTe thin layer 4 is evaporated on the layer 3, excessive Cd in the CdS layer 3 is diffused to the layer 4, which becomes a layer of a low specific resistance. Then, Cu2S is evaporated on the layer 4 to form a layer 5. Furthermore, Ni is evaporated thereon to form an electrode, and thereafter lead wires 7 and 8 are respectively connected to the electrodes 2 and 6 to coat the same with an epoxy resin 9. |
