Organic solvent recovery from paint slurries

A slurry obtained by cleaning painting equipment, e.g. rollers, with organic solvents is mixed with dil. aqs. alkaline soln. (e.g. 1% NaOH) and distilled to obtain a volatile fraction of organic solvent and water.
