Work fluid is admitted to a tube carrying an internal aerodynamic vane charged to a different potential from the tube. Dipoles in the fluid are aligned, reducing fluid viscosity, and attracted to the vane or tube surface encouraging intimate contact and energy exchange. The vane may be sectionalised with reduced potential at the rear end where alignment has already occurred to minimise potential input. Supplementary ions may be introduced to encourage alignment and the tube may carry its charge on an annulus upstream from the vane to align dipoles prior to contact with the vane.
|
