The device comprises at least one soft magnet, pref. two concentric poles defining an annular space over which flows the fluid with entrained magnetisable particles. The circumference of the magnets carry grooves or are specifically shaped to provide regions of high magnetic flux to act as the main collection zone for the particulate impurity carried in the fluid stream. The corrugations may be adjusted or fixed to suit the particle requirements. May be used to remove magnetisable particles from powders, liquids, sludges, etc. |
