To connect a helical spring (2) to an object (1), the object is provided with a catch segment (4, 5) onto which the one outermost winding of the spring can be snapped. The catch segment has an inner flat centring pin (5) above which an approximately diagonally running catch bar (4) is arranged, which projects outwards on both sides beyond the centring pin and has a curved outer surface. To connect the spring to the catch segment or to the object, the outermost spring winding is firstly placed on one side below the catch bar and then engaged or snapped in above the latter on the other side. A sturdy connection of the helical spring to the object is thus produced without the aid of any tools. <IMAGE>
