There is a swivelling coupling bolt in an open-fronted space in the coupling unit in the automatic centre buffer coupling system on railway rolling-stock, esp. of the Willison type. The mixed coupling device incorporates a draw rod (6), displaceable lengthways against a compression spring, in the coupling unit. This swivels from an inactive position to a coupled position, and vice-versa. The rod has an eye loop at its front end, for coupling to a draw hook (4) while its rear end controls the setting of the bolt in the bolt case.
