Securing buttons to fabric sections by threads - including impregnating thread with adhesive before sewing

The threads forming the loops to hold a button on to a fabric section, are bonded to the bottom threads by means of an adhesive. The threads pass through the holes of the button and loop back through the fabric, and the adhesive may be applied only to the zone of the threads on the side of the button facing the cloth. The threads may be wound round the strands of the loops to form a cord which is strengthened by adhesive, and the proposal is partic. applicable to the sewing of buttons by machine, since it prevents the easy pulling apart of top and bottom threads. The adhesive may be applied to the thread as it runs from the reel to the needle so that buttons are attached securely without hand sewing.
