The coupling piece for gas or liquid pipes has a connection with clamping jaws engaging around the inserted pipe end and a separated thread connection at its ends. The two connection ends can be pushed together. Their union is ensured via a ring groove on the one and a ring-shaped projection on the other, the connection piece being pushed over the threaded section. The latter has a hexagonal operating union on the outside, positioned with axial clearance from its end inserted in the connection piece.
