<p>Regenerated cellulose fibres in which are dispersed flame-retardant amounts of H2O-insoluble, liquid, phosphonitrilate polymers of the formula:- (in which R and R' are 1-6 alkyl or alkenyl, or 6-10C aryl or aralkyl groups, at least one of which is substituted by one or more halogen atoms). Pref., the fibres contain 5-30% of phosphonitrile in which R and R' are both 2-chloroethyl or 2,3-dichloropropyl groups. The phosphonitrilates confer lasting flame-retardancy on the fibres without damaging other fibre properties.</p> |
