摘要 PURPOSE:To detect directly the quality of bead working without being influenced by roundness of the can shell by detecting the depth of bead on the basis of can shell after bead forming working. CONSTITUTION:When a can shell enters the detecting position rotating on its own axis, a plate 2 oscillates around an axis B in the direction of the arrow D overcoming against a spring as the contact side C of an upper plate is held at a position which is the slight inside of the locus of passage of the can shell. Even in the case where the can shell is not true circle, contact of the can shell with the contact side C is always maintained. A lower plate 3 is provided in the bead part of the can shell and its contact side C is projected from the contact side of the plate 2 by alpha. Accordingly, when the bead depth beta is alpha<=beta, the lower plate 3 is pushed by the contact pin 8 of the upper plate 2 and rocked in a body with the plate 2. The contact E maintains contact and detecting current continues to flow. When the bead depth beta is 0<=beta<alpha, the rocking amount of the plate 3 becomes greater than that of the plate 2 and contact between the contact pin 7 and 8 is cut off to break the current, and a can of defective bead is detected.
