PURPOSE:To prevent increase of friction at the bearing section by supporting the upper/lower ends of pinion shaft to be rotated through steering wheel respectively with bearing while facing an intermediate bearing against the upper end of pinion gear. CONSTITUTION:The vicinity of the upper/lower end section of pinion shaft 6 to be rotated by a steering wheel is supported rotatably on a gear case 8 through bearing 9a, 9b respectively. While a face to be supported 6b is formed near the upper end of pinion gear 6a at the intermediate position of said bearings 9a, 9b and an intermediate bearing 9c is provided at the position facing with said face 6b through predetermined micro gap delta between the innercircumferential supporting face and said face 6b. Consequently, increase of friction at the opposite bearing sections 9a-9b can be prevented through simple structure even for long pinion shaft 6. |
