PURPOSE:To obtain a toner proper in the range of particle diameters and small in the difference of characteristics, such as fluidity and triboelectrifiability among each individual particle by bringing a specified dispersion system into contact through a semipermeable membrane with water to form oil drops or polymerization composition particles and polymerizing a monomer contained in the drops or particles. CONSTITUTION:The oil drops are formed around a core material by dissolving or dispersing a monomer, toner additives for giving toner characteristics, and a polymerization initiator into a specified solvent as a dispersion medium, bringing the dispersion system into contact through the semipermeable membrane with water, and utilizing decrease of solubility of said components, or the oil is absorbed by the solid polymerization composition particles, thus permitting the drops or particles of desired size to be formed in a short time, and the monomer in the drops or particles to be selectively polymerized, the obtained particles to be fixable and electrically chargeable, to have spherical forms and practicable particle size as toner particles, and a uniform size distribution like monodispersion, and accordingly, the obtained electrostatic charge image developing toner to be good in fluidity and small in the difference of various characteristics including electrification among each individual particle. |
