<p>The invention is particularly applicable to sterilizable, sterility maintaining packages for sterile products; such as, contact lens saline solution. A problem has been how to open and dispense the sterile material without contamination. The sealed container (10) has an elongate stopper member (18) transversely disposed in the seal (20). The seal (20) grips the elongate stopper member (18) has one end (22) extending through the seal (20) and the other end (24) extending outside the container (10). The outside end (24) of the stopper member (18) may be grasped and withdrawn from the container seal (20), leaving an opening (28) into the container (10) through the space formerly occupied by the elongate stopper member (18). The matter within the container (10) may then be expelled through the opening. </p> |
