For mounting in front of a window in a house, the roller blind or roller shutter is electrically drive. The electric drive, in the form of a geared motor, is accommodated in the cylindrical rotary unit. It is supplied with energy from replaceable primary elements, or accumulators also housed in the rotary unit. The motor shaft may serve as a rigid fixing axle for the rotary unit, being connected to it via the gear unit. A switch may also be fitted in the rotary unit. This combines the advantages of electric drive with the simple installation of the spring roller blind.
