The sheet feed mechanism suction cup has a number of working positions, having a cylinder connected to a vacuum source. The cup contains a spring-loaded plunger with the suction head on the end. The upper end of the cylinder (1) is sealed by a moulding of elastic material (5) with an adjusting screw (6) limiting the plunger stroke (2). Air equalisation devices in the form of an annular gap (11.1) or drillings (11.2) in the plunger are provided between the upper (7.1) and lower (7.2) cylinder chambers formed on the opposite sides of the plunger.
