Method for passivating metal substrate belts

The method for passivating galvanized steel strip in continuous flow process, comprises moving a coated strip through a bath with aqueous acid passivation solution, which consists of chromium-(III)-ion and cobalt salt and is free from chromium-(VI)-ion. The bath is heated at 30-50[deg] C and the strip is moved with a speed of 30 m/min through the bath. The bath is heated over a plastic heat exchanger. The bath is set to a temperature of 35-40[deg] C. An independent claim is included for a device for passivating galvanized steel strip in continuous flow process.
