<p>The machine comprises a power unit (3) mounted on a wheeled chassis (2), this unit driving a gearbox (1) behind the wheels (30). A crank (8) drives a reciprocating ram (7) ejecting a plant and earth ball from a compartmented tray (6) which progressively moves horizontally and vertically. The earth ball is ejected onto a horizontal tray (8), pivoted onto an oscillating lever (16) driven by the crank. This lever operates a trip mechanism (10, 14) which releases the tray downwards and drops the plant into a furrow (28) formed underneath the machine. the movement is timed to operate at preset intervals.</p> |
