A beam splitter is required in order to separate the light backscattered or reflected in the optical fibre to be measured from the light coupled into the optical fibre. In the arrangement according to the invention, an end face, obliquely faceted at a specific angle, of an optical fibre which is coupled to the optical fibre (7) to be measured is used as beam splitter (4). The disturbing influence of reflection at the fibre input is thus eliminated, and it is possible to measure different characteristics in transmission or reflection or backscattering without reequipping the measuring arrangement. <IMAGE> |
