PURPOSE:To enable an image recording material to form an image with improved gradation, by laminating a specified photosensitive composition layer and a single particle layer of a mixture of solid finely divided particles different in light transmissivity on a substrate. CONSTITUTION:Solid finely divided particles, such as plastic, starch, or glass, having a particle diameter of 5-1000 mu, preferably 20-80 mu, transparency, and colorability are colored to various densities with a proper dye or plgment to form a mixture of particles different in optical density in the range of 0.3-1.4. A photosensitive composition prepared by mixing a diazo resin, e.g. in a polyvinylalcohol aqueous solution is coated on substrate 3 to a dried thickness of 2-15 mu to form photosensitive composition layer 2, and before this layer has been dried, the above solid particle mixture is blown against the undried layer, resulting in forming a single particle layer, as shown in the figure, 1 being a transparent paaarticle and 1a a colored particle, by removing nonattached particles, thus an image reording material is formed. |
