Ceramic heating element support, esp. for heaters used in heat store ovens, consists of sintered (mixed) metal oxide ceramic (I), which is electrically insulating and does not corrode the heating element. It has a bulk density of over 2.3 and a specific heat vol. capacity of over 3. The heat storage capacity is better than usual for ceramic supports. Pref. (I) consists of a mixt. of magnesite (up to 30% of which can be replaced by corundum), basalt and opt. up to 40% olivine.
