This invention provides 2,4-diamino-5-thiobenzyl pyrimidines of the formula wherein R denotes hydrogen, an alkyl group, a lower alkoxy group or a halogen atom and R' denotes an alkyl group. The invention provides such novel pyrimidine derivatives, processes for the preparation thereof, pharmaceutical compositions containing them, their use in pharmacy and their pharmacologically acceptable acid addition salts.
