Flexible hose of rubber or rubbery elastomeric plastics has several superposed plies of spirally wound wires embedded in its walls, as reinforcements. The reinforcements are built-up from loosely bundled monofilament wires but are not twisted into cords. The reinforcing plies are sepd. from one another by interposed layers of elastomeric material. They are wound in the manner of multi-threaded screws to form several wire bundles. Each bundle may comprise >=20 wires. The prod. is suitable for use as high-pressure hose.
