Chromium thiochloride is produced by reacting a substance chosen from sulphur, trivalent arsenic sulphide As2S3 and antimony sulphide Sb2S3 in a sealed tube with divalent chromium chloride CrCl2 at a temperature which lies between 550 and 650 DEG C, removing the sulphur chloride, trivalent arsenic sulphide or antimony chloride formed by sublimation and removing any excess of divalent chromium chloride. Application: active material in electric cells. |
