<p>The rear windscreen of the car is fitted with a vertical support strip on which are positioned marker tags denoting spacings behind the vehicle. The driver is able to view the tags in the rear view mirror so that he can judge the spacing of following vehicles. The marking enables the leading driver to take extra care in braking if the following vehicle is too close. The markings can also be applied tot he parcel shelf in a hatchback vehicle, to be reflected off the steeply curving glass.</p> |
