Forming bearings by coating with metal powders and heating and compacting

A layered material for shell bearings comprises a substrate coated with a rough layer such as sintered tin bronze and a suspension alloy layer such as Al-Pb which is applied as a powder and heated and compacted e.g. by rolling. The alloy layer may be applied to the inner surface of a tube by centrifuging.
