PURPOSE:To affix polarizing plates large voluminously in a vacuum chamber and achieve higher efficiency and higher quality and yield by providing upper and lower pressure plates respectively to above and below panel guide plates provided with a multiplicity of positioning holes. CONSTITUTION:Upper and lower polarizing plates 4, 14 are tentatively fixed partially in the specified positions on both sides of a liquid crystal panel 11 to have clearances of a and b. These are forced up by springs 13a, 13b and pins 12a, 12b to maintain the clearances so as not to contact with each other unless any external force is applied. Positioning pins 9, 10 are erected on a base plate 8 so that overall positioning of the respective upper, lower polarizing plate guide plates 5, 7 of the upper, lower polarizing plates 4, 14, panel guide plates 6a, 6b and pressure plate 1 at the presetting is made possible by this. Thereby, considerably higher quantity, higher efficiency and higher yield may be achieved. |
