The cable is for use with telecommunications and signalling appts. particularly for mining engineering. The cable is designed so that signals or switching instructions can be sent along a conveyor run from any point of the line commensurate with price requirements and intrinsically safe construction. The metallic braiding (1) embracing the pair of intrinsically safe cables are spaced slightly apart from one another and are themselves enclosed in an oval shaped casing or envelope (5). The casing is provided on one side at least with a longitudinal or length stabiliser.
