PURPOSE:To eliminate the need of oil seal interposed between a rotary drive transmission system, e.g. a gear or a belt, for rotating a rotor and an external motor and between the shaft thereof and an apparatus. CONSTITUTION:A rotor 3 having transducers 1, 2 for transmitting/receiving ultrasonic wave fixed to it is provided with motor magnets 9, 10 and a motor 8 is born by the supporting shaft 4 thereof thus constituting an outer rotor type motor. A magnet 11 and an MR sensor 12 for detecting the relative position are provided integrally with a magnet 13 and an MR sensor 14 for detecting a reference position, while being spaced apart therefrom, as means for detecting the rotational speed and the stop position of the rotor 3. This structure eliminates the distortion or fluctuation of image caused by the rotary drive transmission system, and rotary load or leakage of acoustic coupling liquid caused by the oil seal thus realizing a small size high performance ultrasonic probe. |
