The hollow plastics slat for a roller shutter has a connecting hook at the top and a hinge chamber with an opening gap at the bottom. The hook (6) has a cross-section gradually increasing from the curved part towards the root. At the root the cross-section is preferably sufficient to fill the opening gap (10) in an adjacent hollow slat (1). The slats combine to form a stable roller sheet which can be penetrated only with great difficulty when lowered, while they are easily movable when raised.
