Furan compounds of the formula I <IMAGE> are prepared. In these, the radicals R1, R2 and R4, independently of each other, denote hydrogen atoms or lower alkyl groups, and the group <IMAGE> is an acyl radical. The preparation is carried out by acylation of the corresponding mercapto compounds. The furan compounds of the formula I are used advantageously as aromatising agents, in particular to improve the meat-like flavour of foods. |
