Boxes for packing ampoules generally have packing inserts (12) for securing the ampoules. The box must still be sufficiently stable after having been opened for the first time to offer good protection to the contents. In addition, it must be possible to reclose the box after each use until the packaged contents have been fully used up. The invention achieves these requirements in a simple manner in that to reinforce the front wall (4) the base of the packaging insert (14) is arranged in the box body (1) so as to bear against the inside of the front wall. By this means, the front portion, in particular, which has been weakened after being torn open, is reinforced and the arrangement of a pocket for inserting the lid is made possible. <IMAGE>
