<p>A jacking point for an automobile consists of a plate (1) which is rigidly fixed to the bodywork. A slot (5) is formed near the lower edge of the plate with the central part of the slot wall removed to form two lugs (1a, 1b). A second plate (4) with tapered edges and a cambered surface is wedged into the slot together with a spring clip (6). The spring clip has a rounded nose (6d) which fits through a slot (4e) in the cambered plate and forms a location for a rectangular hole (2a) cut in the U-shaped bracket (2) which is attached to the jack.</p> |
