The containers are secured in the hold by special frames with frame sections pivoted about vertical supports to restrain the stacks of containers. For securing half-sized containers the frame structure occupies the space normally found between the larger containers. The structure is fitted with servo rams (7) to lift and secure the frames. It enables containers of two sizes to be securely stacked. The frame sections are operated by servo rams and require little manual effort.
