PURPOSE:To obtain the title fibers having improved hand, dyeability, water absorption, and antistatic properties, by dissolving the sheath part comprising an organic metal sulfonate and a polyoxyalkylene glycol of concentric composite fibers. CONSTITUTION:Concentric composite fibers comprising the core part of a polyester consisting mainly of repeating units of formula I: (n is an integer 2-6), and the sheath part of a polyoxyalkylene glycol and an organic metal sulfonate of formula II: [R is 3-30C alkyl or 7-40C (alkyl) aryl group; M is alkali (earth) metal] are treated with an aqueous alkaline compound to remove 40-70% of the sheath part. The cross-sectional area of the sheath part is 1-10 times that of the core part. |
