PURPOSE:To provide a flash apparatus which eliminates troubles due to light interference between lamps by widening the space between the lamp lit and the lamp unlit so that the voltage of the lamp unlit is below the working voltage of glow starter or the like or the current thereof is above the level enough to maintain the fine discharge. CONSTITUTION:On-signal is applied to gates GT1 and GT2 to actuate the glow starter. Consequently, given a start-kick voltage, fluorescent lamps are lighted, once preheated through secondary windings X1 and X2. Then, according to control signals applied to the gates GT1 and GT2, flashing is repeated. When a switching means T1 or T2 is turned off, the lamp L1 or L2 is unlit while a fine discharge is performed with a small amount of current fed to the lamp L1 or L2 through a current regulating resistance R1 or R2. In such an arrangement, the space l between the lamp L1 and L2 is widen so as to remove troubles such as the actuation of the glow starter or the like and the stoppage of the fine discharge depending on an increase in the voltage and a decrease in the current of the lamp performing fine discharge affected by the light of the lamp lit. |
