PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent the outer peripheral surface of a lead pipe from separating from a glass material and the glass material near the outer peripheral surface of the lead pipe from cracking to reduce hermeticity. SOLUTION: A solid electrolytic capacitor includes: a rolled capacitor element 1 impregnated with solid electrolyte; a metal case 4 shaped like a bottomed cylinder and housing the capacitor element 1; and opening closing member 7 including a metal base plate 71 having a through hole, a lead pipe 73 passing the through hole, and a glass material 72 buried in the gap in the through hole, and fitted in the opening of the case 4; and a lead wire 13 passed through the lead pipe 73. The peripheral portion of the base plate 71 is bonded to the peripheral portion of the opening of the case 4, the gap in the lead pipe 73 is sealed with metal brazing material 33, and the lead pipe 73 is made of a ceramic pipe and a metal thin film formed on the inner peripheral surface of the ceramic pipe.
