<p>The plant includes at least one heated tank contg. molten Zn into which the workpieces are lowered, plus a holding furnace, which has an outer jacket of thermal insulation. The furnace has a circular horizontal cross-section, and is provided with electric heating. When the tank has a metal wall, the thickness of this wall is at least twice the thickness of the wall of the furnace; and the wall of the latter is pref. 10-30% of the thickness of the wall of the tank. The furnace pref. uses electric immersion heaters, and has a cylindrical cross-section with a curved base. The furnace pref. stands on the workshop floor and can be moved between the tanks. The furnace is much less expensive than a tank and also reduces the time required to replace a tank.</p> |
