The machine for cleaning and disinfecting floors, has the disinfectant solution supplied from the container (7) fitted on the handle. The liquid reaches the cleaning head (8) which may be a sponge or pad, through a valve (3) which automatically opens in the work position but closes in the rest position. Thus in the work position when the handle is inclined for the wiping process the disinfectant is dispensed over the floor irrespective of any other conditions. The handle is preferably hollow so that the disinfectant can be supplied to the valve through it.
